Help Kids Learn How to Organize!
I hope you are having a great week! Let's chat about kids' bedrooms and playrooms. They are often cluttered with toys, school items, and anything they can drag through the door. Help them to conquer the clutter by setting them up for success with functional storage.
Here are a few ideas to try:
-Instead of one large toy box in which small parts are easily lost, invest in several smaller ones. Or place smaller bins inside of a large toy chest.
-Have kids help sort their items into like piles and put in separate bins, boxes, or totes.
-Label all containers, or use clear containers for younger children who can't read labels yet.
-Use fish nets or pet nets to keep stuffed animals off of the floor. Collapsible laundry hampers are a great solution as well.
-When new toys are brought into your space, take the opportunity to help your children to let go of any others that are no longer loved. A "1 in, 1 out" rule can be very helpful.
Encourage kids to keep their space organized. It will be easier for them to maintain the system when they know there is a special place for each item.
