"What gets measured, gets managed." - Peter Drucker
The quote for today comes from Peter Drucker, managment guru. I remember many crucial insights learned from him back in my college business courses. This idea of measurement is a crucial first step in getting organized. You have to know what you have, whether it is time or stuff, before you can decide what to let go of, better contain, or create a system for.
What will you measure today?
As we rush headlong into Thanksgiving this week, I would love to hear what are you thankful for? Besides pumpkin pie, obviously! :)
I am so grateful for the opportunity to use a talent I have for organizing to help other people. Hopefully these words will also encourage you on your path.
"I’d rather be a failure at something I love than a success at something I hate." – George Burns
"All great changes are preceded by chaos." ~ Deepak Chopra
Just let that thought sink in for a moment.... This quote is a perfect mantra when you are in the midst of getting anything organized. Things will always look like mayhem before you're done. Just push through, knowing that the outcome will be great!
I love this thought. It can be applied to tackling an organizing project long put off, or any daunting task. Our brains really are in charge!
"Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right." - Henry Ford
