Here is a quick tip for today...when you are labeling containers around your home, make it simple and intuitive and it will work so much better. Here is a pic for inspiration!
Happy Thursday, my friend!
Today I am pondering bookshelves and wanted to share some ideas. Bookshelves are for more than just books! Using them to their fullest potential will help you get your home organized. They come in all sizes and styles and can be used in almost any type of room. They are a really fantastic storage solution.
Here are some ideas of what you can store there:
-Board games, puzzles, and DVDs
-Photo albums and favorite pictures
-Small potted plants or containers with pet items like leashes and toys
-Catchall containers for items such as vehicle keys or cell phone accessories
-Baskets with phone books, address books, or pens and notepads
-Decorative containers with household items such as remotes and flashlights
-Gifts for upcoming birthdays, and events
Even if your home is short on closet and cabinet space you can stay organized by using bookshelves as sturdy, and often beautiful, pieces of functional storage.
Below is a pic of how this solution has done the trick in my own office closet. What do you keep on your bookshelves?? I would love to hear about it in the comments.
Well, OK, not everyone will experience the same amount of joy that some might get from organizing a home, office, or even vehicle. You can, however, try to find the fun in cleaning and sorting.
These simple hints can turn dreaded tasks into something that can be survived with a smile.
1. Give yourself a reward for doing the task you least like, such as indulging in a treat after cleaning the toilet, or sorting that mysterious pile of papers.
2. Turn on the music and dance your way through the sweeping and mopping. The time will go much faster!
3. Find a chore/organizing friend and challenge each other to see who can reach their weekly goals first, and the loser buys lunch that month.
Take the "chore" out of household chores and organization. Let yourself find fun ways to organize your space and your life.
